Monica Goulart began her career as a public school science teacher before her fascination with the underwater world lured her out of the classroom, and into the field of ocean (inner space) exploration.
After graduating from the Santa Barbara City College Marine Diving Technology program, she gained experience in submarine research expeditions for Deep Ocean Exploration and Research. Later, she joined the Oceaneering International team, as a Remotely Operated Vehicle technician and pilot.
As her career submerged, the educator in her resurfaced. Monica saw the need for more direct access, in addition to television and professional journals, between inner space activity and the general public. As a result, Aquanautte was created to promote ocean literacy in our everyday lives. AQUANAUTTE seeks to profile marine scientists, their ocean investigations, the impact humans have on this, and how consumers can participate directly in ocean sustainability. |
